Case Study - Relaunch 2026
Jackreport:
Ten times more newsletter sign-ups.
A digital luxury magazine with a personal concierge service for Vienna - and a website whose most important job is turning readers into members. From a website builder onto hand-built code: here is what the relaunch changed.
One message is all it takes - you get an honest assessment of your website. Free, even if you never become a client.
PageSpeed values measured with Google PageSpeed, as of July 2026 - feel free to verify yourself. The Core Web Vitals come from real visitor data (Chrome UX Report).
The tenfold increase in newsletter sign-ups is reported by the operator (as of July 2026). This page can be measured against its numbers.
The Task
Turn readers into members.
Jackreport shows Vienna at its most exclusive: curated experiences, fine dining, its own journal and a personal concierge service. Yet a magazine's most valuable asset is not the individual page view - it is its own newsletter list, here called the "Cercle Privé". Because in marketing, a business truly owns only two things: its own website and its own list. Everything else is rented reach.
The old site ran on a website builder - visually elaborate, technically heavy: 170 server requests on every load of the home page. The task of the relaunch: keep the elegant brand world, but rebuild it on hand-built code - so every reader lands instantly and the invitation to the members' circle sits at every decisive point. See for yourself below - with real excerpts from the live site.
Before / After

On the left the old website-builder version (archived on the staging domain), on the right the new site. Same brand, completely new foundation.

Before values measured on the archived website-builder version, after values on jackrep.com - both in July 2026 (Google PageSpeed + own measurement). Feel free to verify yourself.
The Reader Journey
Follow a reader - from the first click to membership.
Four stations, real excerpts from the live site. This is how the website works for the magazine.
1The Discovery
A reader searches for Vienna at its finest.
People who want to experience Vienna exclusively do not search for "newsletter" - they search for the opera ball, New Year's Eve in Vienna, the right restaurant. That is exactly where the journal articles pick them up, right at their occasion.
Content brings readers. But only the website decides what becomes of them.
2The Landing
He lands on jackrep.com - and the stage is set instantly.
Dark, calm elegance instead of a website-builder grid - and above all: instantly there. The site passes the Core Web Vitals with real visitor data, not just in the lab. A magazine that promises luxury cannot afford waiting time on load.
The first impression of a luxury magazine is made in the first second - or not at all.
3The Journal
He stays - article after article.
The journal is the engine of the site: original articles on the occasions Vienna visitors actually search for. Every article is its own entrance via Google - and always ends with the same invitation.
A magazine without its own articles has only one door. This one gains another with every article.
4The Cercle Privé
He joins the circle - one field, one click.
The sign-up is not a newsletter box at the bottom of the page but an invitation in the brand's own voice: "Vienna's most beautiful evenings are never advertised." It sits at every decisive point of the site - one e-mail field, one consent, done.
10x more newsletter sign-ups than before the relaunch - reported by the operator, as of July 2026.

And the journey is accessible too: 99 of 100 in the accessibility audit - easy to read, easy to use, on every device.
What It Is Really About
The list belongs to the magazine. Forever.
Every newsletter sign-up is reach that no one can take away: no algorithm, no ad budget, no platform in between. A tenfold increase in sign-ups therefore does not just mean "more contacts" - it means the same readers who used to disappear now stay. The difference is the website.
An honest division of roles: The website does not create new readers - the journal, the brand and recommendations do that. What the website does: it turns those readers into members instead of letting them slip away. Exactly this conversion increased tenfold after the relaunch.
I want this for my website too.
10 minutes is all it takes - on the phone or in a WhatsApp chat you will know what your website is leaving on the table.
